Being judgmental of others is something we can all be guilty of. One person wrote:

“Most of us are umpires at heart; we like to call balls and strikes on somebody else.” – Anonymous

Jesus calls out the religious leaders with respect to judging and challenges his disciples to practice godly discernment in relationships.

Matthew 7:1-12

Jesus calls us to godly discernment in all relationships.

“Judge not, that you be not judged.” –  Matthew 7:1

 

What Jesus Is NOT Saying:

  1. Jesus is not saying that we are to critical thought in moral and social matters.
  1. Jesus is not saying we are to be in matters of cultural shifts, corporate sins, and spiritual decline.
  1. Jesus is not saying culture should courts of law.

What Jesus IS Saying:

  1. Don’t judge others . (Matt. 7:1-2)
  2. Don’t judge others h. (Matt. 7:3-5)
  3. Don’t continue to invest in those who demonstrate a contempt of God. (Matt. 7:6)

Jesus calls us to godly discernment as we navigate through relationships. (Matt. 7:7-11)
