The Ten Commandments were given to people who are redeemed by God as guardrails for their good and God’s glory. They protect us from danger and direct us toward safety and success.

The First Commandment protects us from idolatry and directs us into intimacy with the only true God.

The Second Commandment protects us from the false worship of the true God and directs us in the true worship of the true God.

The Third Commandment protects us from abusing God’s name and directs us into adoring God’s name.

The Fourth Commandment protects us from an unhealthy view of work and directs us to a healthy view of worship.

The Fifth Commandment protects us from becoming a and directs us to becoming a .

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.”- Exodus 20:12

The 5th Commandment protects us from dysfunction by:

  1. Loving your children
