Walking as a Godly Wife

May 5, 2024 / Phil Ortego / Ephesians 5:22-24

When it comes to family, our experiences are broad and diverse. Some here are married; some are single; some are single again; some are married again; some are couples raising children; some are single parents; some are blended families, and some are grandparents raising grandchildren; some are adopted into families. No matter what your family of origin, we all have a few things in common:

You did not get to pick your family!

Every family has certain dysfunctions!

No one you are related to is as smart as you are!

God’s ideal for the foundation of the family is husband and wife. (Genesis 1:27)

God’s ideal for the duration of marriage is permanence. (Matthew 19:6)

Walking as a Godly .

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. (Ephesians 5:22-24)

“and let the wife see to it that she respect her husband.” (Ephesians 5:33)

The key word for wives Is .

Why Submission is so Difficult:

Common Struggles:

    1. Some of you struggle with submitting to a man who is more about himself than about you.
    2. Some of you have passive husbands and you desire for your husband to be the spiritual leader.
    3. Some of you fear losing control.
